According to Panesar, the film insults the Indian Army and Sikhs.

‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ is a remake of 1994 Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’. In which a person with a low IQ enters the US Army. Panesar said that the Hollywood film makes sense because the US military was inducting a low IQ person into the army to meet the requirement for the Vietnam War. Panesar has vented his anger over the film on Twitter.

Panesar wrote that the film insults Sikhs and the Indian Army, with this tweet Panesar has also used #BoycottLalSinghChadda. Panesar himself is a Sikh and his parents are Indian. Panesar has played 50 Tests and 26 One Day Internationals for England. During this, he has taken 167 and 24 wickets in both the formats respectively.
